Mainroad Group is a 100% employee-owned collection of companies specializing in road and bridge products and services. Spanning across Western Canada, the Mainroad Group network connects you to a team of experts with extensive experience in diverse climates and environments.

our history

Headquartered in Surrey’s Cloverdale community, “Mainroad Contracting” was established in 1988 when the provincial government privatized road and bridge maintenance services within British Columbia. A motivated group of former provincial employees banded together to pool their knowledge, skills, and resources to form what would become one of the most successful roadway maintenance companies in British Columbia.

Many road and bridge maintenance companies had to start from scratch in 1988, but “Mainroad Contracting” had the advantage of purchasing government inventory (with personal cheques!) which had already been manufactured and specialized for maintenance needs.

“Mainroad Contracting” evolved into Mainroad Lower Mainland Contracting which maintains the most frequented travel systems in all of British Columbia. The crews maintain the most structures, bridge decks, swing bridges, counterflow systems and interconnected network of freeways, highways, and roads than any other contract area in British Columbia! This high traffic volume area, paired with a knowledgeable and dedicated employee-group, created a highly specialized knowledge base. Employees knew that others could benefit from their experiences and services, and so the employees voted to expand and Mainroad Group was born.

Now boasting over 450 employees and a spectrum of specialized pieces of equipment and services, “Mainroad Contracting” has expanded into an empire of autonomous yet synergistic companies operating throughout British Columbia, and looking to expand beyond: Welcome to Mainroad Group.
